Dr. Austin Ovuigwerie Orette has officially declared his candidacy for the Delta South Senatorial Seat in the 2027 National Assembly Elections. He describes his campaign as "a battle of ideas" — a movement to end political patronage and restore governance based on competence, accountability, and citizen empowerment.

Sponsor bills to decentralise power from Abuja, empower states, and fight for equitable resource control for Niger Delta communities.
Leverage 40+ years of medical expertise to sponsor bills for rural healthcare delivery, maternal health, and modern community health centres across Delta South.
Establish digital libraries, improve school infrastructure, and champion vocational training to make Delta South youths globally competitive.
Low-interest loan programmes, enterprise zones, and skills acquisition initiatives so Delta South youth become job creators — not job seekers.
Modern equipment, mechanised farming, and agricultural extension services to make Delta South self-sufficient in food production.
Sponsor federal projects for roads, power plants, waterways, and bridges. "No modern society can function without electrical power."
Since declaring in early 2026, the campaign has held town halls in Isoko South, Isoko North, Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri South, Warri North, and Warri South-West.
